Why glazing needs a specialist

Glass is unforgiving to work on. Façades overhang, curtain walls have no edge to stand on, atriums sit above occupied floors, and anything dropped from a glazed elevation lands on the public. Cradles don’t fit every building, and MEWPs need ground that city sites rarely have.

Rope access puts an IRATA-trained technician directly on the face of the building, on two independent ropes, with tools tethered and the area below controlled. It reaches overhangs, recesses and complex glazed geometry that fixed access can’t.

What we do

  • High-level glass and façade cleaning, including curtain walls, atriums and rooflights
  • Close inspection and condition surveys of glazing, frames and cladding
  • Sealant and gasket work, and cladding repairs at height
  • Make-safe of broken or failed glazing, through our emergency repairs service
  • Solar panel cleaning with pure water, so the glass dries without spotting

How we control the risk

  • Every job supervised by an IRATA Level 3 technician
  • Tools tethered and the area below controlled, so nothing reaches the public
  • Rigged from the roof, with no ground equipment at the entrance
  • £5M public liability, £10M employers’ liability and £5M professional indemnity insurance

What you get

  • A site-specific RAMS before we arrive
  • LOLER and PUWER records for every rope, device and harness
  • Certificates for every technician on site
  • A completion certificate for your CDM file, H&S manager or insurer
