What counts as an emergency

If there’s a risk to people or serious damage to property, call. Typical call-outs include:

  • Storm and wind damage to roofs, cladding and chimneys
  • Loose masonry, render or tiles over public areas
  • Broken or unsafe glazing at height
  • Water getting in and threatening electrics or equipment
  • Signs or fixtures that have come loose

What we do

  • Set up an exclusion zone and make the hazard safe
  • Remove or secure loose material at height
  • Temporary weatherproofing to stop further damage
  • Temporary netting to contain debris
  • A report and quote for the permanent repair

When another contractor lets you down

Short of rope access technicians at short notice? Through the RAT Work network of 1,000+ IRATA technicians we can help cover a gap, from a full team to a single Level 3 supervisor. See what to do if a rope access contractor lets you down.

Still done properly

Emergency work still runs under IRATA Level 3 supervision, with a RAMS and equipment records, and we leave you a written record of what we found and did.
